Our Story

CCBU becomes a contact point with the Brazilian community in South Florida.

1996 – The initial idea was to create, at the Consulate, a centralized collection of materials for use of students and their families in presentations about Brazil at local schools. The then Consul General Luiz Fernando Benedini suggested to build on the initial idea of the archives and to create a fully-blown Cultural Center.

1997 – CCBU is incorporated as a non-profit Florida Corporation (501.c.3.). The first Board of Directors is established and the first members registered.
